About MandaBear Creations

MandaBear Creations was started in January of 2013 in memory of our daughter and sister Amanda Leigh, at the very young age of 7 Amanda was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and went through surgery and several treatments, she went on to live what most would consider a normal childhood life.  Then at the age of 16 she would be diagnosed again this time with Parotid Gland Cancer, for the next six years she underwent surgery, radiation and several more surgeries for recurring tumors.
With no effective Chemo treatment for Parotid Gland Cancer Amanda faced her biggest challenges, trying to find a Clinical Trial that would be best suited for her, and as time went on after four or five trials it would become more of a challenge for her physically to go through any more.

Amanda fought through every surgery, every treatment and every trial with more strength and courage hoping that the next treatment would be it.  She lost her long battle in August of 2012 at the age of 22.

We promised we would never stop looking for a cure, while sitting in her bedroom not knowing what I should do with all her clothes I decided that I would make the first of 25 “MandaBears” for our family, close friends and her two favorite Doctors.  This was my way of keeping her memory alive. From there I have had requests and encouragement to continue making the bears for others with loved ones clothing.

After taking a hiatus with MandaBear Creations, we (Lori and Stefanie) decided to bring back MandaBear Creations in 2023 in order to continue paying tribute to Amanda.  We are now able to take MandaBear Creations to a new level.  Not only are we still creating bears, but we are able to incorporate our love for pearl jewelry and crafting into our business.  â€‹
